Social Innovation Makers (SIM) - Drifters and their Waystation

Ever wondered who the “unseen” young people in our city are? How different their lives might be? Forced to flee their homes because of war, religion, or persecution, they grow up in Hong Kong as refugees or asylum seekers. For these refugee youth, Hong Kong serves as a waystation where they endure a long and uncertain waiting process. Without an official identity, they face daily challenges and navigate life on the margins of society.

Join Social Innovation Makers if you are inspired to create social change together with these young people! Go beyond classroom and engage directly with the community. Hear the firsthand stories of refugee youth to truly understand their struggles and needs. Guided step by step through the design thinking process, you will be able to transform your innovative ideas into practical solutions that tackle the challenges of refugee youth. Co-create with students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines and contribute your strengths to foster a more inclusive youth community!
