Star Fragments is an art collective established in 2022 by three emerging artists - TSE Hiu Lam, LAW Ka Yan, and SANTOS Angelique - each hailing from diverse backgrounds. With a keen focus on local culture, contemporary social issues, and artistic ecology, their objective is to engage new art enthusiasts and audiences through their creative endeavors.
In 2023, Star Fragments introduced the "Sorry, I want to leave the archipelago" project, which centers around the sentiment of departure in To Kwa Wan concerning individuals and circumstances. The artists empathize with these narratives and continually refine their works to disrupt the cycle of silence in the modern era, pondering the core of artistic expression and allowing the audience to interpret and grasp based on personal encounters. They explore various layers of meaning within their works to facilitate a rekindled dialogue and exchange between the public and the artists. This initiative aspires to raise awareness on Hong Kong's current urban development plans and underline the significance of preserving the heritage of old districts.
This project is supported by Social Innovation Kick-Start Fund.
