共創共融未來 Co-Creating Inclusive Futures

HKBU x HCA MoU Renewal Ceremony & Collaboration Showcase

Inclusion is not a concept - it's something we co-create

On 25 June 2026, HKBU and Hong Chi Association (HCA) came together to celebrate the renewal of our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking another five years of partnership in advancing service-learning, inclusion, and community engagement.

Over the past two years, this collaboration has brought together HKBU students, faculty members, and HCA trainees to learn, create, and grow alongside one another through a wide range of projects and activities.

Partnership Highlights
  • 14 collaborative projects delivered
  • 250+ HKBU students engaged across 4 faculties/schools
  • 260+ Hong Chi students and trainees benefited
  • Collaboration spanning 8 Hong Chi schools and 12 service units

The event featured a Collaboration Showcase presenting selected projects from the past two years, including initiatives in arts, oral history, sustainability, business, and social innovation.

A sharing session brought together HKBU instructors, students, and Hong Chi trainees to reflect on their co-creation experiences. Participants shared how creativity, connection, and genuine friendships developed through a range of collaborative projects, including the VART3397 Studio: Object Culture service-learning course. From transforming trainees’ hand-drawn ideas into marquetry artworks through emerging technologies and laser-cutting techniques to bringing creative ideas into real-world community projects, their stories highlighted how innovation and inclusion can go hand in hand.

The ceremony itself embodied the spirit of inclusion, with an HKBU student and an HCA trainee serving as co-emcees, while a vibrant performance by a Hong Chi inclusive band brought the celebration to a memorable close.

As we embark on the next chapter of this partnership, we look forward to creating even more opportunities for students and trainees to connect, contribute, and co-create an inclusive future together.

Special thanks

We are deeply grateful to all the Service-Learning instructors and teaching staff for their dedication over the past two years, and we thank their representatives for attending the event.
