Make a Little Thing 「造」件小事 Make a Little Thing 「造」件小事

Spark your curiosity • Explore community needs • Put ideas into practice
藉由好奇出發 • 探索社區需要 • 動手造件小事

Every little thing counts, so, why not get started right here and right now?  If you are passionate about finding new ways and possibilities to tackle social problems as well as to spark your creativity, TriAngle invites you to join our programme “Social Innovation Maker (SIM): Make a Little Thing”.

In this journey, under the guidance of your mentors, you will discover inspiring stories in the communities, become familiarised with the skills of design thinking and community analysis, and finally create your own products or services with fellow students from different disciplines.  In response to the various community needs, you will be able to put your product/service ideas into practice in real-life situations!  This is a great opportunity to realise your potential and make positive changes in the communities.

Recap

From October 2021, HKBU students (SIMMERS) in the SIM programme took part in a series of social innovation workshops with a view to creating innovative interventions for three community partners.  Although their work plans have largely been hindered by the pandemic, the three SIMMER teams strived to put their ideas into actual practice.

The SIM programme concluded with the Online Achievement Showcase on 24 March 2022.  The SIMMERS shared their passion, their projects and the stories behind in accordance with the themes “Spark Your Curiosity”, “Explore Community Needs” and “Put Idea Into Practice”.  With the valuable feedback from our partners, the SIMMERS were encouraged.

Interventions the SIMMERS have created:

The team organised an interactive online experience for Hong Chi Morninghope School, Tuen Mun students and Hong Kong Baptist University students.  The experience was the first step to facilitate a better understanding between the two groups of students.  The team hopes to organise more activities to promote social inclusion.

The team created two songs delineating the unique landscape of To Kwa Wan.  The songs have been published in social media platforms, hoping to arouse a sense of community in the residents of To Kwa Wan and the general public.

2. 《給新山道的我們》
